Features

This pilot version of LitTEL currently has one single feature, relating to a morphosyntactic construction which lends itself to description in small corpus languages.

An overview of the LitTEL features

More detail on the definitions and annotation guidelines of each parameter can be found on its detail page, which can be reached via the name link. A separate page also exists for the intersection of each language and parameter, constituting a set of observations with the annotator's comments, where relevant. This can be reached by clicking on specific language values on the parameter detail page.

The overview below provides the following information for each parameter:

  • Its Name and its Description.
  • Its Stability score, quantifying the rate at which the feature changes over time, in terms of value changes per millennium.
  • Its Symmetry score, quantifying the extent to which changes in feature values are symmetrical. If both changes (0 > 1 and 1 > 0) are equally common, the symmetry score will be 1. Conversely, if only one directionality of change is attested, the similarity score will be 0.
